Dating My Fiancee

Thanks to the rain showers today, the temperature is 88 degrees cool, not typical for Vegas in July.

The time is 5:30pm, I get home from work, climb out of my car, shut the door, and walk up the stairs. I am thinking how fortunate I am to have a beautiful home and fiancee waiting for me. Work is awesome. Everything in place.

And just like that it dawns on me… what a beautiful cool evening to waste indoors.

I walk in and kiss Kate hello. She’s in her gym clothes but I have other ideas. I tell her to change… we are going out for happy hour at Double Helix at Town Square Las Vegas.

As exhausted as I am from a hard day’s work, making time to date my fiancee is something I value and really do enjoy. What makes it even more special is Kate doesn’t feel entitled, which I admire about her, and make me want to do more.

I put a lot of thought into what really matters [in our relationship, work, life, design, and business] and believe it’s the fine little details.

Life Lessons as a Designer

I may be in charge of design for Rich Mbariket, but no creative activity in this world makes me feel happier and more alive than seeing the final pre-production sample of our first briefcase collection, crafted from chrome, genuine pebbled leather exterior, and fully lined velvet interior.

Long before there was a physical product, there was an idea, a sleek and stylish business briefcase that upgrades the jet-set professional man.

One of the big lessons I have learned from my journey is you can’t wait around for the right moment because it doesn’t exist. Execute and keep moving forward, one foot in front of the other… swiftly.
